Meet Our Executive Director

Precious McKoy, Executive Director, is the visionary of the SHIELD Mentor Program (SHIELD) founded in January 2008. She believes that a community of people who genuinely care about our community youth, specifically pre-young people and teenagers in middle and high school, will impact society in a great way. Her passion is to provide youth with the leadership development skills that they need to be successful in life by pursuing their personal goals and dreams. Her interests and expertise focus on youth development and adolescent issues emphasizing mentoring relationships, community service and experiential learning.  She has developed and implemented initiatives to provide youth with a full range of mentoring programs and services.  Her approach is to impact youth one decision at a time, to shape youths' character and to guide them toward positive behaviors.

Precious received her Master of Arts in Nonprofit Management from High Point University.  Precious also holds a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration with a concentration in Corporate Communication & Spanish from Queens University of Charlotte.

She has served as a member of several boards and advisory Interns, including the United Way “Hub for Excellence”, Reclaiming Futures Change Committee and the Guilford Parent Academy Communications Committee. Among her many award and honors she is most thankful for the Affiliate Award for Outstanding Service in 2010. She has also been named a “Change Agent” through IMPACT Greensboro, a program that creates leaders who will engage in civic opportunities.

Precious is married to Antonio McKoy, Co-Founder of the SHIELD Mentor Program and is the proud mother of her son, Antonio McKoy, Jr. (AJ) and her daughter, Cyria Sage McKoy.
